Delivery Driver

Location: Loughborough

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 04:00am - 12:00pm

Pay Rate: £16 per hour

Delivery/collection of company goods to/from customers/suppliers' premises. To plan and operate routes/deliveries to company and customer satisfaction.

• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects. Deliver/collect company goods to/from customers/suppliers' premises (carried out in accordance with customer site regulations).
• Establish and maintain good working relations with customers and report on same to managers as required.
• Adhere to M.O.T regulations (highway code, driving hours, ADR). Complete loading/delivery run sheet and report missed deliveries/shortages.
• Assist supervisor/manager with route development, planning and improvements. Co‑ordinate and arrange empty chemical bottle collections from route customers.
• Sort parcels into mode, route and drop sequence.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping – vehicle cab and delivery box.
• Undertake other such responsibilities as may be required from time to time.
• Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with relevant training.
• Comply with Driver code of conduct guide card.
• Always use safe‑working practices when handling goods, equipment and hazardous substances.
• Actively support and maintain the departmental process and procedures.
• Change delivery routes at short notice and complete refresher training, maintaining knowledge of a minimum of three delivery routes.
• Undertake other duties as requested by management team.
• Effectively perform duties whilst acting in accordance with the Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.
• Embrace and participate in PPI initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings to the business.

• Smartly presented at all times, wearing the appropriate driver’s uniform and safety footwear.
• Professional and courteous at all times when dealing with customers, contractors and suppliers.
• Physically fit, able to lift/move loads up to 25 kg.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• May be required to change delivery routes at short notice and spend nights away while completing 2‑day runs. Required to complete refresher training to maintain knowledge of a minimum of three delivery routes.

• Minimum of 6 months experience of multi‑drop deliveries.
• Class C licence (7.5 t) or Class C2 (7.5 t+).
• ADR vocational licence (transportation of hazardous substances) or Driver CPC.
• Driver CPC (Driver Certificate of Professions Competency).

• Clean, current driving licence, minimum Class C (7.5 t) but ideally a Class C2 (7.5 t+).
• Previous experience as a delivery driver.
• ADR/Dangerous Goods experience.
