Delivery Driver
Location:

Shifts:
Monday to Friday, 04:00am - 12:00pm
Pay Rate: £16 per hour
Delivery/collection of company goods to/from customers/suppliers' premises. To plan and operate routes/deliveries to company and customer satisfaction.
Summary of duties- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects. Deliver/collect company goods to/from customers/suppliers' premises (carried out in accordance with customer site regulations).
- Establish and maintain good working relations with customers and report on same to managers as required.
- Adhere to M.O.T regulations (highway code, driving hours, ADR); complete loading/delivery run sheet and report missed deliveries/shortages.
- Assist the supervisor/manager with route development, planning and improvements. Coordinate and arrange empty chemical bottle collections from route customers.
- Sort parcels into mode, route and drop sequence.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping – vehicle cab and delivery box.
- Undertake other responsibilities as may be required from time to time.
- Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with relevant training.
- Comply with Driver code of conduct guide card.
- Use safe‑working practices when handling goods, equipment and hazardous substances.
- Support and maintain departmental process and procedures.
- Change delivery routes at short notice and complete refresher training, maintaining knowledge of a minimum of three delivery routes.
- Undertake other duties as requested by management team.

- Participate in PPI initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings to the business.
- Smartly presented at all times, wearing the appropriate drivers' uniform and safety footwear.
- Professional, courteous at all times when dealing with customers, contractors and suppliers.
- Physically fit, able to lift and move loads up to 25 kg.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Change delivery routes at short notice; may need to spend nights away and complete 2‑day runs. Complete refresher training to maintain knowledge of a minimum of three delivery routes.
- Minimum 6 months' experience of multi‑drop deliveries.
- Hold a Class C license or 7.5‑tonne driving licence.
- Hold an ADR vocational licence (transportation of hazardous substances).
- Hold a Driver's CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Clean, current driving licence, minimum Class C (7.5 T) but ideally Class C2 (7.5 T+).
- Previous experience as a delivery driver.
- ADR / Dangerous Goods experience.
