Material Handler I Job Overview

We are looking for a Material Handler I to join our warehouse team in Loughborough. Working within a dynamic team environment, you will be responsible for ensuring products are accurately and efficiently received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped. Your focus will be on safely achieving day‑to‑day operational goals following safety, quality, and delivery standards.

• Receiving & Put-Away
  :
  Receive deliveries/returns, unload items (boxes, cages, pallets) using manual handling equipment, check quantities/quality against purchase orders/ASNs, and book goods into the warehouse management system.
• Picking & Packing
  :
  Locate and assemble customer orders using radio data terminals and picking lists; package and label cartons/pallets for safe transit.
• Dispatch & Loading
  :
  Sort customer orders onto outbound routes and safely load delivery vehicles/carriers according to manifest sequences.
• Continuous Improvement
  :
  Participate in efficiency and quality improvement projects (such as 5S and Kaizen) and maintain productivity and safety targets.

  Monday - Thursday (08:30 - 16:30), Friday (08:30 - 17:00)
• Pay Rate
  : £13.20 per hour

• Experience
  :
  Prior experience in warehouse operations (e.g., picking, packing, dispatch, or forklift driving).
• Communication
  :
  Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal standard operating procedures in English.
• Teamwork & Flexibility
  :
  Strong team player with a positive attitude, willingness to support team goals, and flexibility regarding shift patterns or overtime when needed.
