We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Ward Clerk. The post is 0.80 hours per week, working Monday through Thursday from 8am to 4pm. The Ward Clerk is the focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other clinical and non‑clinical staff, ensuring visitors are greeted on arrival and that the ward operates smoothly.
Responsibilities- Receive, welcome and advise patients, and signpost patients to appropriate clinical staff and services.
- Register and discharge patients onto the electronic patient record (EPR).
- Book and attend patients onto Systm One.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail: receive, scan, photocopy and forward as required.
- Send, receive and action messages via the clinical system.
- Answer telephone enquiries from patients, staff and external agencies.
- Assist medical staff with ad‑hoc administrative enquiries.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to all staff groups.
- Maintain supplies of stationery and other administrative supplies.
- Contribute to the reception base on the ward, ensuring effective day‑to‑day reception.
- Participate in identified training and personal development activities.
- Assist with health promotion and other related activities as necessary.

Additional experience in a healthcare administration context. - Desirable:
Knowledge of electronic patient record systems.
