Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and achieve success? As an Inclusion Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting students' attendance, engagement, wellbeing and inclusion. Working closely with students, families, staff and external professionals, you'll provide mentoring, interventions and restorative support to help young people build resilience, re-engage with learning and thrive in school. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference, supporting students with behavioural, emotional or social challenges and helping them achieve positive outcomes both in and beyond the classroom.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting students experiencing behavioural, emotional, social or attendance challenges.
  • Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions focused on engagement, resilience and self-regulation.
  • Supporting students during periods of dysregulation, transition or reintegration.
  • Working with families to identify and overcome barriers to attendance and school engagement.
  • Facilitating restorative conversations and promoting positive behaviour strategies.
  • Assisting with behaviour support plans, pastoral interventions and risk assessments.
  • Supporting alternative provision placements and liaising with external agencies.
  • Monitoring attendance, behaviour and wellbeing concerns, maintaining accurate records and contributing to reports.
We're seeking someone who is calm, resilient and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • Experience working with children or young people within education, youth work, social care or similar settings.
  • Experience supporting young people with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • The ability to engage and motivate students who may be reluctant learners.
  • A positive and proactive approach to behaviour and attendance support.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
