Design Manager

JRM is Recruiting on Behalf of One of the UK’s Major Building Contractors, for £40mil project in Loughton, Essex.

My client is established major UK Building Contractor, from a small RC Frame Specialist and Ground works that’s has now grown into PC works.

My Client is looking for a Design Manager, that has worked for major Principle contractors or Design & Build contractors in London and been exposed to complex projects. This is a high-profile scheme in Essex that is transforming the area dramatically.

Title:

Design Manager

* Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.

* Produce design briefs for temporary and permanent work

* Review submissions as directed for quality and sufficiency

* Update design folders and registers ongoing

* Produce minutes and schedules for Design Review Meetings

* Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input

* Sketching / Drawing ability including CAD.

* Attend team meetings as required

* Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers / CRE / CNR and report to CEM

* Assist CEM with engineering compliance issues on sites

* Initial awareness of temporary works; further experience to be gained

* Ensure correct drawings are maintained and issued to sites in accordance with 3 above

* Co-ordination / management abilities to deal with several small projects or large multi-disciplined projects

* Excellent interpersonal skills and assertive when required to ensure timeous design delivery

* Design capability as pre-requisite for submission review and checking

* Ability to undertake small scale in-house temporary design
