Rehabilitation Specialist

Join our team at Nuffield Health to help us build a healthier nation. This part‑time role (15 hours per week) offers a salary of up to £29,551.06 per annum, depending on experience.

Your core responsibility will be to deliver the Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes, leveraging our unique pathway and championing our charitable purpose. The role involves remote (digital) and in‑person facilitation of exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating guidance, and goal setting. You will run weekly 1‑to‑1 sessions and group exercise classes (virtual and in‑person), promote self‑directed activity, and support participants through the 12‑week programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and run rolling 12‑week rehabilitation programmes.
  • Facilitate and deliver both live‑stream and in‑person group exercise classes for people with varying abilities and physical function.
  • Promote self‑directed activity using pre‑recorded on‑demand classes and a journal to aid post‑programme self‑management.
  • Re‑calibrate exercises and intensities based on regular progress demonstrated by changes in effort and performance.
  • Identify any deterioration in participants, follow internal escalation processes, and ensure accurate reporting within specified time frames.
  • Engage in weekly 1‑to‑1 telephone conversations to offer coaching, set short‑term and long‑term goals, address restrictions, monitor progress, provide emotional wellbeing support, and empower self‑directed activity.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (essential).
  • Previous experience in a Rehabilitation Specialist or related role (preferred).
  • Problem‑solving, diagnostic, organisational and decision‑making skills.
  • Effective time and resource management.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults.
  • Strong English communication and numeracy skills.
  • Optional: BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation.
