Whether you're a recent accounting graduate or have a year or two of experience, this is an opportunity to develop your technical skills while gaining exposure to project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and business operations in a dynamic engineering and construction environment. No two days are exactly alike, and you'll work closely with experienced accounting professionals, project managers, and company leadership to help keep our financial operations running smoothly.

• Performing assigned month-end close activities, including bank reconciliations, recurring and standard journal entries, and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Verifying and recording vendor invoices, scheduling and processing payments, and helping prioritize outstanding vendor balances.
• Maintaining accurate expense records while ensuring all transactions are properly coded within our accounting system.
• Preparing customer invoices, recording cash receipts, and accurately applying payments to customer accounts.
• Monitoring outstanding accounts receivable, assisting with collections, and preparing weekly aging and receivable reports.
• Maintaining work-in-progress schedules and supporting accurate project billing.
• Assisting with monthly financial reporting, project margin summaries, and management reporting packages.
• Supporting the preparation of draft financial statements and compiling supporting documentation for management review.
• Assisting with variance analysis by gathering financial data and preparing preliminary explanations comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
• Supporting the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting activities by maintaining schedules and collecting departmental information.
• Collaborating with Project Managers to reconcile project financial information, monitor budgets, and ensure accurate project reporting.
• Assisting with cash flow projections and helping determine payment milestones for new proposals and active projects.
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen internal documentation.
• Serving as a collaborative resource between the Accounting and Project Management teams to ensure accurate communication and timely financial information.

We're seeking someone who is organized, analytical, curious, and enjoys solving problems. The ideal candidate takes pride in accuracy, communicates well with others, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where learning never stops. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, along with strong Excel skills, prior bookkeeping experience, and a willingness to learn new systems and processes. Prior internship or professional accounting experience is a plus but is not required.
