The Clerk’s Office of the Louisiana Supreme Court seeks a Deputy Clerk to play a vital role in preserving and organizing legal records integral to the functioning of the court system. Work is performed under the general direction of the Clerk of Court and involves organizing records for the docket, setting up schedules for archiving records in compliance with the State Archives, purging “dead” files for paper recycling, and ensuring that proper record‑keeping procedures are followed.

• Supervise and ensure all records are accurately maintained, easily accessible, and in compliance with relevant codal and statutory provisions.
• Process incoming records, sign record orders, and respond to record requests.
• Directly supervise departmental staff.

• Strong knowledge of court record‑keeping and filing policies and procedures, including electronic filing.
• Five years of related work experience in a court or other legal setting.
• A Bachelor’s or Paralegal degree may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
