Position Summary: Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for a part‑time Administrative Assistant for the LSBDC Greater New Orleans satellite office in Reserve, Saint John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana. The role supports consulting, training, and outreach services to small businesses.
Position Title: Administrative Assistant – St John the Baptist Parish
Department: Department of Business Administration & Economics
Status: FLSA Non‑Exempt
Employment Type: Part‑time (up to 20 hours/week)
Work Hours: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (May include evenings and weekends).
Reporting: Reports to:
Senior Business Consultant;
Secondary Supervisor: LSBDC at XULA Center Director.
Location: Reserve, Louisiana (office at River Parishes Community College).
Minimum Qualifications- Associate Degree in Business or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in administrative, program, or customer‑service roles.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, or CRM systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and collaborate in a community‑focused setting.
- Interest in small‑business development, entrepreneurship, and local economic growth.
- Any additional experience or certifications in small‑business development, community outreach, or related areas.
Office environment at River Parishes Community College; occasional travel to training sites and community events within Saint John the Baptist Parish and Greater New Orleans Region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist the Senior Business Consultant with client intake, scheduling, and follow‑up.
- Maintain client records, workshop attendance logs, and reporting documentation in LSBDC CIC data management system.
- Coordinate logistics for in‑person and virtual training sessions, including promotion, registration, and material preparation.
- Greet and assist walk‑in clients, providing information about LSBDC services.
- Support outreach initiatives to engage small‑business owners, chambers of commerce, lenders, and partners.
- Prepare marketing materials, digital communications, and event announcements.
- Track and organize financial documentation related to program expenses.
- Assist with special projects, community events, and business resource fairs.
- Participate in LSBDC at XULA and LSBDC State Network meetings and events as needed.
