• High school diploma or GED
• Six months of experience in sub‑professional engineering, heavy mobile equipment operation, or mobile equipment maintenance

• Review plans, specifications, and special provisions to ensure compliance by contractors and compile field data, work reports, and other information as needed to prepare estimates and periodic reports.
• Interpret plans, specifications, and special provisions to ensure compliance by the contractor, keep field notes, record work performed, compute and check earthwork quantities, cross sections, spreadsheets, benchmarks, and other related data to determine compliance.
• Perform detailed construction inspections of road and bridge projects and ensure construction meets the guidelines detailed in the plans, specifications, and special provisions. Accurately report data and figures for partial and final pay estimates.
• Inform supervisors in a timely manner of any construction‑related issues that arise during construction.
• Perform other duties as necessary, including emergency/disaster support activities.

Construction Inspector 1 – $14.98 per hour
Construction Inspector 2 – $17.15 per hour
Construction Inspector 3 – $19.63 per hour
Construction Inspector 4 – $22.47 per hour
Additional $2.00 per hour premium pay for every hour worked.
