Looking for a Sound Designer for an upcoming independent feature film, paid at $100-200/day for approximately 3 weeks of work. We need someone for post-production sound design starting late November or early December 2026. Our project is a character-driven drama with elements of magical realism, exploring themes of memory and loss in a New Orleans setting. The tone is reflective and atmospheric, with a need for subtle, evocative soundscapes that enhance emotional depth without distracting from the narrative.
Your key responsibilities will include creating and implementing all sound effects, foley, and atmosphere. You'll be responsible for sourcing or recording sounds, editing them to picture, and mixing them effectively within the soundscape. We're looking for someone with basic proficiency in a DAW (Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, etc.) and a good ear for storytelling through sound. While we don't expect extensive professional credits, a student film or short film reel demonstrating your sound design capabilities is required.
Access to your own sound effects library and basic editing software is preferred. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience on a feature-length project and collaborate with a passionate, small crew based in New Orleans.
