Physician - Section Head - Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant
Join Ochsner Health as the BC Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist and serve as Section Head of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Service Line in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The Ochsner Advanced Heart Failure team currently performs approximately 25 LVAD implantations and 25-30 heart transplants per year. The role will lead a multidisciplinary team of 5 staff physicians, 6 mid-level providers, and a 7th year fellowship position, demonstrating expertise in inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services. Additional responsibilities include participation in the amyloidosis clinic, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinic, and the PHA-certified Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic run by the Advanced Heart Failure Team.
We seek a candidate comfortable in an academic environment with a strong cardiology fellowship integral to our inpatient team dynamics. The successful applicant will contribute to the cardiogenic shock initiative, a multidisciplinary program expanding throughout the Gulf South region.
- Leadership of a multidisciplinary Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant team.
- Expertise in LVAD implantation, heart transplantation, and related services.
- Participation in specialty clinics (amyloidosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension).
- Collaboration with the Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute and the John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute.
- Academic involvement and mentorship of fellows and staff.
