Ochsner Health invites applications for a Critical Care Anesthesiologist to join a team of four in the New Orleans area. The position is part of Ochsner’s commitment to high‑quality patient care, education, and innovation.

The role includes approximately 25% of clinical time practicing Critical Care Medicine, with the balance dedicated to a mixed operative practice in the surgical ICU. The Ochsner Surgical ICU is an interprofessional unit covering 34 beds with a high‑acuity patient cohort that includes Cardiothoracic Surgery, Mechanical Circulatory Support (ECMO, LVAD, IABP, etc.), and Vascular Surgery patients.

• Provide critical‐care services to a 34‑bed surgical ICU with a spectrum of cardiovascular surgical disciplines.
• Balance clinical care with a mixed operative practice and participate in a highly collaborative interprofessional model.
• Contribute to the teaching mission of the Ochsner Department of Anesthesiology, including residency and fellowship programs in Adult Cardiac Anesthesia, Pulmonary Critical Care, and Neurocritical Care.
• Engage in research activities and academic initiatives in collaboration with faculty and trainees.
• Collaborate with a large team of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and house staff within a department that handles over 52,000 annual cases.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care, with preference for dual certification in Anesthesiology.
• Strong interest in academics and research, with a commitment to teaching and mentorship.
• Experience or training in critical care medicine; fellowship‑direct graduates are particularly encouraged.
• All training backgrounds considered, though dual certification in anesthesiology is preferred.
