Description
The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a program that creates an environment in which students can learn and develop optimally.

Full-time
Role and Responsibilities
The duties of the teacher may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing dual language instruction to elementary students
- Assisting the instructional process in various forms
- Supporting school-wide instructional initiatives
- Gathering student data and designing strategies to meet student needs
- Remaining current with Louisiana Student Standards and other requirements
- Attending Professional Development sessions
Assessment
- Conducting regular formative and summative assessments
- Maintaining an accurate gradebook and tracking student data
- Conducting school-wide benchmark assessments
Other Duties
- Communicating effectively with staff and parents regarding student performance
- Participating in SAT meetings and supporting positive behavior initiatives
- Assisting students in adopting successful classroom behaviors
- Participating in faculty and professional learning community meetings
- Supporting orientation and open houses if requested
- Modeling non-discriminatory practices
- Performing other related functions
- Serving as Team Leader if requested
- Being punctual and following staff policies
Community-Based Learning Initiatives
- Supporting curriculum delivery that uses community resources
Requirements
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Fluency in French and experience with the French curriculum
- Experience in elementary, middle, or secondary instruction
- Flexibility and team spirit
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching Certification
- Three or more years of teaching experience
- Experience differentiating instruction and supporting students with learning challenges
