- Provide academic assistance to students individually or in small groups to enhance student learning without compromising the quality of the student learning experience.
- Review concepts and learning objectives for courses taught in Chemistry specific to the subject area to be able to assist students with course content.
- Assist students with understanding concepts presented in the classroom.
- Distribute learning materials to supplement lessons presented in class (worksheets, study guides, test/exam reviews, etc.).
- Provide basic technical support to students using the computers in the lab.
- Communicate services to students and staff.
- Assist in carrying out the resource lab’s rules and guidelines.
- Maintain learning environment in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Perform other duties related to the School of STEM as assigned.
- Proctor exams as needed.
Associate’s Degree or higher (Can be In Progress) with a minimum of 6 hours of Chemistry courses including one or more of the following:
Introductory Chemistry (Non-Science Majors), Chemistry (Science Majors), and Organic Chemistry.
Minimum of one year of general office experience or tutoring/teaching in a college setting.
Required Licenses or CertificationsN/A
Preferred EducationAssociate’s Degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field.
Preferred ExperienceMinimum of one year of tutoring/teaching Chemistry in a college setting.
Background CheckPassing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
