Position Summary
Teachers provide quality care and education to infants and toddlers in the Early Learning Center at LSU Health Sciences. They ensure the health and safety of all children in their class, and plan and implement early childhood lessons that support each child’s development.
Position includes multiple roles:
- Lead Teacher
:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field and one year classroom experience in early care and education, or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood related field with no experience. - Assistant Teacher
: CDA and 2 years’ experience working in childcare or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or related degree with 12 months of experience in early childhood, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related field. - Teacher Trainee
: no experience required.
LSU Health offers full benefits including health, paid leave and retirement. Starting salaries are competitive, ranging from $28,000-$43,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
Required Education
Certification/Licenses: CDA within one year of hire.
Experience
Classroom experience in early care and education.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with any of the following:
- Experience working in early intervention.
- Working within an interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary model of service delivery.
- Experience using coaching-based interventions.
- Other related experience (specify).
