AboutThe Role
Nevly is seeking a data engineer to join its Rent Advance team focused on designing, building and delivering proprietary underwriting models. The Data Engineer will design, construct and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures, working closely with data scientists, analysts and other stakeholders to ensure data is accessible and usable for decision‑making processes.
Position Responsibilities- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to support data ingestion and processing.
- Design and implement data storage solutions that ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data requirements and provide necessary data sets.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data‑related issues to ensure optimal functionality.
- Implement data governance and security practices to protect sensitive information.
- Optimize data delivery and processes to improve performance and reduce latency.
- Document data workflows, architecture, and processes for future reference and compliance.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually improve data practices.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Typescript and Scala.
- Deep experience with data lakehouse solutions and AWS Glue components (Glue, Glue Crawler and Glue Data Catalog), Amazon S3, Athena, Quick Sight and Sage Maker.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and large‑scale database management systems.
- Deep prior experience with ETL processes and tools.
- Prior experience as a data engineer with a preference given to big‑data machine learning/AI services.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar discipline;
Master’s degree is a plus.
