WSP USA is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Ports and Marine Engineering
. This position can be based out of New Orleans-LA, Tampa-FL, Houston-TX, and Raleigh-NC. Provides engineering support to technical staff and project managers for the development, design, construction, and inspection of port, marine, and intermodal terminal projects.

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site surveys, technical reports, and drawings for project development.
• Support the development of project design requirements incorporating marine-practice engineering standards.
• Identify project site, design, and construction risks and provide input on mitigation activities.
• Write technical reports and generate concise documentation using sketches, calculations, spreadsheets, and drawings.
• Prepare presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on federally, state, regional, and locally funded projects.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to gain practical insight into maritime construction processes.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies regarding responsible use of company resources.
• Complete required training and perform additional responsibilities as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 0 to 1 years of professional engineering experience; prior engineering internship experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self‑leadership, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Basic proficiency in technical writing, engineering software (AutoCAD, SAP
  2000), and fundamentals of statics.
• Experience with safety, health, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Occasional travel may be required.

• 1 to 3 years of post‑education experience with ports and marine structures.
• EIT certification.
• Experience with Revit, MathCAD, and other relevant software.
• Active participation in professional practice organizations.
• Familiarity with marine and coastal engineering principles and regulations.
