Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long‑term, low‑cost provider of American‑produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana‑based export projects serve the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long‑term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.
We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Technician, Mechanical (Process).

The Maintenance Technician, Mechanical (Process) reports to the Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor (Process) and performs the safe, efficient, and effective execution of all mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance work at the Venture Global Plaquemines Liquefied Natural Gas (PLNG) facility, specifically at the Liquefaction, Storage and Loading facilities. The Technician works closely with other Technicians and Supervisors within the Operations & Maintenance departments.
Responsibilities- Executes preventive and corrective maintenance mechanical work according to PLNG HSSE process, procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Adheres to VGIMS (Venture Global Integrity Management System), PLNG Maintenance Manual and Work Management process and procedures.
- Identifies potential safety, health, and environmental hazards; understands maintenance scope and applicable Operation and Maintenance processes and procedures.
- Performs problem‑solving activities to ensure maintenance and reliability issues are corrected; functions as a Maintenance SME for Mechanical systems.
- Prepares and creates required Job Safety Hazard Analysis and Work permits under the technician’s area of responsibility; ensures permits are submitted to Operations well in advance of execution.
- Works with maintenance and engineering counterparts to ensure the safe completion of scheduled maintenance work.
- Maintains daily work‑progress reports and updates, adhering to maintenance work‑execution processes and procedures.
- Manges personal timecard per PLNG Policies and Procedures (vacation, time‑off, sick leave, training, “on‑call” etc.).
- Supervises contractor work execution, safe work completion, and performance according to PLNG Contractor Management procedure; reports contractor non‑compliance to the direct Supervisor and Planning/Contract teams.
- Provides mentoring and coaching to others and holds personal accountability for performance and behavior.
- Identifies and requests required tools, equipment, and PPE for safe execution of maintenance activities.
- Participates in PLNG Ready for Operations (RFO) maintenance projects to develop required maintenance systems, processes, and procedures before commercial operations.
- Supports Mechanical equipment factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) as required.
- Participates in pre‑commissioning, commissioning, startup, and operation of the PLNG Facility; serves as a vital member of the integrated commissioning / startup team(s) with the EPC contractor.
- Participates in various reviews during the Engineering and Design phases, such as HAZOPs, 3D models, and P&.
- Education and Certifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED;
Technical degree in Mechanical, or applicable nationally recognized standard Certification (e.g., NCCER) preferred.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED;
- Experience
- Minimum five (5) years of maintenance mechanical technician work experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, or petrochemical facilities.
- Knowledge of mechanical industrial standards, code regulations (e.g., API, ASME – Process, NBIC pressure devices relief testing among others).
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical static and rotating equipment.
- Applied knowledge of maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment, such as loading arms, gangways, berth systems, cryogenic pumps and systems, reciprocating, screw and centrifugal compressors, diesel engines, air‑cooled heat exchangers, flare systems, catalysts loading/unloading, etc.
- Experience with scaffolding, painting, insulating, heavy‑equipment operation‑rigging/lifting crafts, welding, fabrication, machining, etc.
