Brunel is recruiting Planning and Scheduling Leads to work with our major oil and gas client in Port Allen, LA for initially 1 year contract.
The selected candidate will serve as a specialist in project schedule development, control, and forecasting. This role evaluates contractor and company schedules for logic, detail, timing, communication flow, and alignment with the Current Control Estimate, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and the Project Plan.
Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership in project scheduling, progress measurement, and change management.
- Steward the contractor’s project control organization regarding schedule development, control, and progress measurement.
- Advise contractors on adequacy of project controls tools, reports, and schedules.
- Develop and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 integrated project schedules.
- Review and endorse contractor-prepared schedule baselines, progress baselines, and forecasts.
- Alert the Project Controls Lead and Project Leadership Team to potential schedule issues.
- Recommend corrective actions and mitigation measures for adverse trends.
- Develop and review schedule corrective actions and recovery plans, ensuring implementation.
- Monitor and report schedule implications of project changes.
- Review schedule bases of contractor change proposals, endorsing schedule and progress impact assessments.
- Support the Project Team with progress tracking, schedule analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Ensure contractor scheduling practices and progress measurement systems comply with project Coordination Procedures.
- Lead contractors in developing Contract Control Schedules and Milestones.
- Ensure integration of subcontractor schedules and progress measurement systems.
- Monitor contractor performance against the approved baseline schedule to identify issues and propose corrective or recovery actions.
- Analyze schedule trends and develop forecasts to support decision-making.
- Participate in contract bid evaluations focused on schedule.
- Ensure contractor schedules align with external requirements (e.g., permitting, regulatory).
- Guide schedule engineers (owner and contractor) on schedule development and control expectations.
- Contribute to Lessons Learned related to progress and schedule performance.
- Maintain regular contact and close liaison with the Functional Organization.
- Promote and drive capital efficiency across all stewarded projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
- Prior oil and gas industry experience preferred.
- Background in Project Controls, Project Services, and/or Planning/Scheduling.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Ability to work overseas and relocate to project sites as needed.
- Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and respond quickly to urgent analytical needs.
