The Application Engineer delivers best-in-class technical expertise and customer service to the electrical infrastructure industry by listening carefully, applying sound engineering judgments, and responding effectively. The Application Engineering Department provides technical leadership across sales, estimating, and project execution. This role supports the development and enforcement of engineering standards, delivers project-level technical guidance, and contributes to research and development initiatives. The primary objective is to apply deep technical expertise to inform estimating, design, and manufacturing decisions ensuring accurate execution, efficient production, and an exceptional customer experience.

This position is 100% onsite. Our preferred location is Belle Chasse, LA. We will also consider candidates located in:

- Serve as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate specifications and error‑free designs.
- Collaborate with account managers and internal stakeholders to define technical scope and complete project charters.
- Participate as a subject matter expert in RFQ reviews and preliminary and secondary specification reviews to identify technical risks, material constraints, and potential schedule impacts.
- Develop, document, and present detailed value‑engineered solutions based on project drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements, balancing performance, cost, schedule, and manufacturability.
- Review project quotation packages to ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery to customers.
- Develop and review preliminary datasheets during the RFQ stage; finalize project datasheets prior to design kickoff.
- Ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle by advising engineers, designers, project managers, and purchasing teams on drawings and bills of material (BOMs).
- Coordinate with Project Management to establish key project milestones (e.g., OFA drawings, ship dates) and finalize bills of material (BOMs).
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams—including engineering, estimating, and operations—to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent information flow.
- Engage operations and manufacturing teams to evaluate design impacts on manufacturability, serviceability, and field support.
- Review and submit drawings to customers, ensuring designs meet contractual specifications, and support a positive customer experience.
- Collaborate with designers and senior engineers to develop, maintain, and continuously improve standardized engineering processes, tools, and guidelines under the direction of the Director.
- Performance objectives and metrics are aligned with the company’s Strategic Plan and Business Management System.

Required. - Must reside in or near Belle Chasse, LA, Bay St. Louis, MS, Westchester, PA, Stone Mountain, GA or Brookston, IN,
Required. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field,
Preferred. - Professional Engineer (PE) License,
Preferred.
