overview
professional, technical and supervisory work developing, coordinating and implementing a hazardous materials and waste management plans and projects for the sewerage and water board. Work includes performing the more difficult, complex and responsible assignments including the performance of the more specialized investigations and inspections of solid, liquid and hazardous materials/waste facilities and obtain compliance with laws and ordinances governing hazardous materials.
Duties include contract preparation, control, monitoring and compliance relative to hazardous materials and waste management remediation. Work also includes organizing training programs; researching, planning and presenting in-house staff training on hazardous materials and solid waste issues and technology; and related work as required.

note: domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. Residency requirements are waived for all sewerage and water board of new orleans positions vacant and advertised for at least 90 days. Employees hired under this waiver remain exempt from the city's residency requirement for the duration of their employment at the sewerage and water board. (la r.s. 33:4076). Additional exceptions to the domicile requirement may be made on a case-by-case basis.
