We are seeking an experienced Manager, Engineering – Civil/Structural to lead a Civil/Structural engineering design team based in New Orleans. This role oversees the planning, design, and execution phases of a diverse portfolio of capital projects, ensuring delivery of high-quality engineering solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a Civil/Structural engineering design team across multiple capital projects
- Ensure consistent application of engineering codes, standards, and best practices
- Deliver Civil/Structural engineering scope aligned with project quality, schedule, and budget objectives
- Develop fit-for-purpose design solutions for projects ranging from operational support to large-scale capital initiatives
- Establish and promote continuous improvement through standards, systems, and best practices
- Plan and maintain appropriate staffing and resource allocation across projects
- Oversee engineering processes, tools, systems, and quality audits for compliance
- Guide development of engineering deliverables, schedules, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams to ensure execution alignment
- Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and safety initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience;
OR - Master’s degree in an engineering discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience managing design engineering teams on large or complex projects
- Strong technical expertise in civil/structural engineering systems, materials, and design methodologies
- Knowledge of industry codes, regulatory standards, and design criteria
- Advanced planning, coordination, and organizational skills
- Solid understanding of multi-discipline engineering interdependencies
- Experience with drawing production, document control, and engineering change management
- Familiarity with project controls, progress measurement, and engineering performance tracking
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of engineering integration with procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Demonstrated leadership ability to mentor, coach, and inspire engineering teams
- Proven capability in complex problem-solving and high-level technical decision-making
