Location: New Orleans
highly responsible professional, supervisory and administrative work in coordinating the program, planning and administrative service functions within the council research bureau; and related work as required.
qualifications- bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- permanent status with the city of new orleans in a class of work having a pay grade equal to or higher than pay grade 77 and five (5) years of professional administrative experience which must have included the research and preparation of legislative instruments.
- six (6) years of responsible professional administrative experience which must have included the research and preparation of legislative instruments. At least one (1) year of the experience must have been supervisory.
- a master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one year of non‑supervisory experience.
- prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
- all applicants must pass a qualifying written examination and receive a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
- promotional employees in the management specialist series are exempt from the written examination.
- the examination is a written test designated to measure: basic management principles, decision‑making and organizing, interpersonal skills, written communication, and mathematics.
- this is an original entrance and promotional examination.

additional information- domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. However, all new full‑time employees hired into this classification on or after january 1, 2013 must be domiciled in orleans parish within 180 days of hire.
