the job involves professional and supervisory recreation work in the oversight of the nordc pool operations and staffing; and related duties as required.
qualifications- three (3) years paid lifeguard experience or one (1) year of lifeguard supervisory experience.
- possession of a current, nationally recognized lifeguard training certification from a professional provider.
- possession of a current, nationally recognized water safety and/or swim instructor certification from a professional provider.
- possession of a current, nationally recognized community first aid and cpr for the professional rescuer certification from a professional provider.*
- a high school diploma or g.e.d.*
- four (4) years of experience in aquatic management or a closely related field.**
* prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education and certifications claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
** an associate's degree or sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience in aquatics management.
this position requires a one (1) year probationary period.
a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
