Monona County Board of Supervisors will be accepting applications for the position of Veteran’s Affairs Director/Administrator. This position is responsible for managing the Veteran’s Affairs Department, ascertaining eligibility for veteran’s assistance, and following State and Federal laws and guidelines regulating veteran’s affairs and benefits ensuring that amounts of assistance rendered conform to guidelines. You will serve as an advocate for veterans and surviving spouses seeking benefits.
This position will be for a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week.
Knowledge of accounting and finance administration is required. You must be able to obtain certification from the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs and national accreditation through the National Association of County Commissioners and Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO). You must attend training from the Iowa Department of Veteran Affairs (IDVA) to receive continuing education credits to maintain your national accreditation. This position does require you to travel out of town to maintain your accreditation.
