Position: GROUNDS PATROL OFFICER (CLASS CODE 7185)
Location: New Orleans

patrolling, securing and protecting an assigned public park, or other public areas or buildings; and related work as required. shift work and rotating assignments are required for this position.

  • minimum age: 20 years*.
  • high school graduation or g.e.d. Equivalent*.
  • licensed to drive

  • unstable or unsatisfactory work history.
  • history of illegal drug usage.

  • * prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify age, education and driver's license claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.

    applicants must be eligible to secure a special officer's commission.
    this position requires a one (1) year probationary period.

    domicile requirements for employment: domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. Candidates for all other original entrance positions will have to undergo an unannounced substance abuse screening during their working test period.
