Overview
Louisiana Department of Corrections – DIXON CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTE, Jackson, LA. Our mission is to promote public safety and strengthen communities through fair, professional, and responsive corrections services.
Responsibilities- Serves as a Shift Supervisor
- Provides internal security
- Reviews disciplinary actions against inmates and staff
- Inspects buildings, equipment, and job sites for compliance with all fire and safety codes
Two years of experience in a correctional, behavioral, or penal institution with responsibility for security, custody, rehabilitation, or classification of offenders, or in law enforcement or security plus one of the following:
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR
- One year of experience in any field; OR
- Six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and possess a current driver’s license.

:
Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C – CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC).
- The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted or may be required to accept a probational appointment.
This position is eligible for a Special Entrance Rate of $23.03 per hour.

- This is a 24 hour facility.
- Applicants may be required to work shift work.
