The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. The role supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process.

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed a sales goal of $1,250 average weekly and productivity goals for hair services while driving retail and service sales and guest loyalty.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and guest experience.
• Support in‑store events, promotions and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products and services.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve walk‑in guests efficiently.
• Partner with skin therapists and retail team for a total‑store experience.
• Build peer and brand partner relationships.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, credit, and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.

• Know and enforce Ulta Beauty policies, procedures and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation and infection control procedures and state board guidelines.
• Follow service protocols for consistency.
• Use booking and clientele systems for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store operational standards.
• Adhere to the dress code.
• Follow loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license.

• Previous relevant work experience is required.

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals.
• Proficiency in recommending and selling professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
