Our District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence within each pharmacy, acting as role models for the pharmacy team and setting the bar for service.

As a DSP, you will work within the district to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager (PM) and Rx District Leader (DL), supporting the management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy and pharmacy team across stores in the district.

• Live our purpose by helping manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC); oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and using safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist on duty.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care; coach the pharmacy team to do the same; collaborate with the patient's total healthcare team; proactively resolve insurance and/or medication issues.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and mentor Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization delivery where permissible.
• Assist in effective management of pharmacy inventory across pharmacies, focusing on protecting cold chain products.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills with required trainings and CMEs; seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients.
• Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services where permissible) and empower the pharmacy team to provide holistic care.
• Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, CVS Health policies, and controlled substance dispensing/privacy requirements; maintain a safe and inclusive workplace.

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

• Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is $60.00 - $76.00 per hour. The actual base salary offer depends on factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
