American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for Cardiac Interventional Radiology, requiring 2+ years of IR experience and ARRT-R certification.
Details- Interventional Radiology and Special Procedures unit
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- On-call required with a 30 minute response time
- Scrub role requiring maintenance of a sterile field
- Uses fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, GE Innova IGS, and Siemens equipment
- Epic charting system experience required
- Performs a wide range of procedures including angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, biopsy, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, TIPS, nephrostomy, and vascular closure
- May be assigned to an emergency response team requiring extended facility presence during declared emergency events
- Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology required; 1 year accepted with neuro IR and scrub experience
- BLS and ARRT-R certification required; ACLS and ARRT-VI preferred
- Prior travel experience required
- Scrub experience required
- Compact or LA license required in hand at time of submission
- Allied health licensure candidates may be submitted with a pending license but must apply within 72 hours of signing
- License required if applicable
- Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Experience with venous access, central line care, PICC line maintenance, and vascular closure systems required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- NURSYS report required for consideration if applicable, updated within 4 weeks of submission
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, prepping access sites, and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias
- Maintains equipment, manages inventory, stocks supplies, and utilizes PACS system
- Lead tech experience and use of rapid response/code teams considered a plus
- Orientation is held five days a week
- Two manager or supervisor references required to obtain clearance to start (charge RNs not accepted)
- Candidates must be located more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former Ochsner Health System employees or in-house agency contractors must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be disclosed on the profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescindment
