Overview

Medical Assistant – Podiatry Clinic – Full Time – Jeff Hwy – Ochsner Health – New Orleans, LA.

• Support patient visit and provider communication.
• Prepare patient room and ensure patient questions are answered.
• Provide excellent patient service over the phone and in person.
• Complete documentation including patient registration when necessary.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials through professional development.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population and communication style.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program (preferred).

• Experience working with confidential information and maintaining confidentiality (required).
• Experience in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision (required).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (required).

• Clinical knowledge.
• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Medium work – occasional and frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Light work – walking or standing for a significant degree. Requires exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
