Travel Respiratory Therapist - PICU RT

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a PICU position requiring 2+ years of specialty experience and CRT/RRT certification.

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• CRT or RRT certification required
• State license required if applicable, compact or LA license required in hand upon consideration
• NRP certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• Experienced RT required, new grads not considered
• Must be comfortable caring for PICU, Pediatric, and Adult patient populations
• ECMO experience preferred
• High frequency jet ventilator and high frequency oscillator experience preferred

• Work in the PICU/RRT unit caring for PICU, pediatric, and adult patient populations
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend coverage scheduled as needed
• No call required
• Epic experience preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered as long as they are experienced RTs
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually:
  Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during a declared emergency event, with an expectation to remain onsite until relieved
• Does not accept local candidates, must live more than 65 miles from the facility
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required to obtain clearance to start contract, Charge RNs not acceptable
• RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
• Previous Ochsner Health staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated for one full year before returning as a travel contractor
