Position: Banquets Porter, Part Time (Caesars New Orleans)
Location: New Orleans

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Banquet Porter is to provide courteous, friendly service to guests during meetings and banquet functions.

  • Arrange and prepare meeting and event spaces according to event specifications.

  • Set up tables, chairs, linens, and other equipment as required.

  • Transport and position flip charts, easels, and minor audio-visual equipment.

  • Help with the distribution of beverage stations and responding to guest needs.

  • Restock linens and supplies to ensure all necessary items are available.

  • Provide support to banquet staff and event organizers during setup and teardown.

  • Assist with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth event operations.

  • Dismantle and remove tables, chairs, linens, and equipment after events.

  • Return all inventory and equipment to designated storage areas.

  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and reporting any damages or malfunctions

  • Strike and clean function rooms, including removing trash and debris.

  • Maintain cleanliness of meeting and public areas by picking up litter, vacuuming floors, and wiping surfaces.

  • Ensure proper storage and organization of supplies and equipment in storage areas.

  • Adhere to attendance guidelines and comply with all regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have worked or is currently working a service position

  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.

  • Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

  • Must possess the skills to lift, push or pull convention tables, chairs, and other convention equipment.

  • Must be able to work high-volume, high-profile events not limited to Mardi Gras, New Year’s Eve or Super Bowl.

  • Must present a neat and professional appearance with good hygiene.

  • Work requires interactions with customers, the public and co-workers.

  • Work requires teamwork with other staff members.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, 50lb minimum.

  • Ability to stand on feet and physically assist to move equipment for a duration of time.

  • Ability to organize and manage equipment, supplies, and the layout of banquet rooms is essential.

  • Communicating effectively with banquet staff, event organizers, and guests to ensure a smooth and successful event.

  • Pay close attention to the details of event setup and ensure all items are placed correctly and in accordance with specifications.
