Information Technology Specialist Iii; Enterprise Management; Class Code 0177

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between City departments, ITI, and the Vendor; providing technical support, facilitating problem resolution, receiving complaints, and administering application(s).
• Design, recommend, and monitor tiered backup solutions and disaster recovery plans for assigned applications; implement proposed backup schedule and disaster recovery plan with ITI technical groups.
• Coordinate with the Business Application Owner for maintenance periods and pre‑update support before making significant changes to the database or application architecture.
• Write technical documentation for content types, presentation modules, workflows, functional regression analysis, and other modifications.
• Add, remove, or update users in Active Directory Groups to ensure access to associated files and databases.
• Perform data extract, transform, and load operations for assigned applications.
• Maintain integrations with the assigned applications and coordinate with the Business Application Owner and Vendor to update or modify any processes needed to sustain those integrations.
• Use SQL or other business intelligence tools to extract data and create on‑demand and automated reports.
• Monitor project milestones and critical paths for potential problems; facilitate communication with project leads to ensure success.
• Facilitate status meetings and report to project stakeholders with accurate data on project and application performance.
• Identify process improvements to support ongoing, effective use of assigned applications.
• Work with QA/QC to comply with ITI change control processes; monitor UAT, systems, and regression testing as needed.
• Provide training as required.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, AND four (4) years of progressively responsible technical experience (e.g., systems administration, database administration, applications, security, networks administration) in a progressive IT organization, data processing management, or technology program, with at least two (2) years of applications management.
• OR eight (8) years of progressively responsible technical experience in the same areas, with at least six (6) years of applications management.
• Notes:
  Prior to appointment, the hiring agency will verify any education claimed by the applicant. Selected applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials before their start date. The position requires a one‑year probationary period.
• Experience gained within the last ten (10) years is weighted in the training and experience rating.
