Data and Storage Integration Engineer, Senior

Base pay range: $80,000.00/yr - $/yr

RMC is seeking an experienced Senior Data and Storage Integration Engineer to support the Enterprise Systems Department at NIWC Atlantic Service Centers. In this role, you'll drive the design, integration, and optimization of enterprise-level storage solutions while also leveraging advanced analytics and scripting capabilities to solve complex business challenges. We are in search of a highly skilled and experienced Data & Storage Integration Engineer with a strong background in software integration, data science, and enterprise storage systems.

The ideal candidate will bring advanced expertise in scripting, data analytics, storage technologies, and enterprise systems to support complex integration, performance, and analytics objectives across a dynamic IT environment. This position is located on‑site in either Charleston, SC or New Orleans, LA.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Systems & Infrastructure

  • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Net App storage systems (e.g., FAS, AFF, E‑Series, 8200, 8300, A300)
  • Manage storage protocols (NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, FC) and ONTAP operating systems
  • Monitor performance, implement provisioning, and configure storage virtual machines (SVMs)

Data Science & Advanced Analytics

  • Apply scripting languages (Python, R) and tools (Jupyter, Pandas, Num Py, Requests) in support of data science or advanced analytics
  • Develop statistical and operations research models to support business and technical objectives
  • Design and execute data mining, graph algorithms, or analytics pipelines

Data Protection & Integration

  • Implement Snap Mirror, Snap Vault, and Snap Restore technologies
  • Support data backup, disaster recovery planning, and storage consolidation
  • Integrate with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Net App Cloud Manager, FSxN)

Performance Optimization

  • Analyze storage performance metrics and optimize configurations
  • Implement quality‑of‑service (QoS) policies
  • Troubleshoot storage‑related performance issues
  • Capacity planning and forecasting

APIs, ETL, and Application Support

  • Design and implement APIs and ETL pipelines for large‑scale data movement
  • Collaborate with network, server, application, and database teams to meet data delivery requirements
  • Apply scripting languages (Python, R) and tools (Jupyter, Pandas, Num Py, Requests) to support data science or advanced analytics
  • Proficiency with operating systems (Linux, Windows Server) and enterprise networking
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required
  • Familiarity with Net App tools including OnCommand, Active IQ, System Manager
  • Proficiency with operating systems (Linux, Windows Server) and enterprise networking
  • Strong understanding of Navy business processes
  • Proven experience leading multifunctional teams and contractors
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to document technical designs and integration principles clearly
  • Experience with AWS cloud services and integrating them with Service Now is highly desirable
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Net App Cloud Manager, FSxN)
  • Experience working with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Xen, KVM)

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate’s specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $80,000 to $150,000 (annually).
