Martin Fed has openings for Software Engineers (Levels I-V) to support software maintenance and Department of Defense (DoD) systems across a variety of mission-critical environments. In this role you will provide technical expertise in software maintenance, testing and evaluation, documentation, information assurance, requirements management, and systems engineering disciplines. Position level will be determined based on education, certifications, and years of relevant experience.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Perform software maintenance, testing and evaluation, and documentation in support of mission systems
- Support Information Assurance (IA) activities in accordance with DoD policies and security requirements
- Participate in requirements management, system analysis, and technical documentation efforts
- Provide systems and/or equipment support for operational environments
- Support test and evaluation activities, including C4
ISR-related requirements (as applicable by level) - Assist in systems integration, architecture, and design activities (Levels IV-V)
- Provide technical support for DoD systems and programs
- Collaborate with government and contractor teams to ensure system performance and compliance
- Apply engineering best practices to ensure system reliability, maintainability, and security
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related field that complements software maintenance
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Software Maintenance
- Testing & Evaluation
- Documentation
- Information Assurance (IA)
- Requirements Management
- Systems Analysis
- Systems Architecture
- Systems Integration
- Ability to support technical requirements for DoD systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Level I:
- 1 year of relevant experience, including systems/equipment support and test & evaluation support of C4
ISR requirements
- 1 year of relevant experience, including systems/equipment support and test & evaluation support of C4
- Level II:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- At least 1 year supporting DoD systems
- Level III:
- 6 years of relevant experience
- At least 3 years supporting DoD systems
- Level IV:
- 10 years of relevant experience
- At least 5 years supporting DoD systems
- Experience in systems analysis, architecture, and integration
- Level V:
- 15 years of relevant experience
- Recognized expert in DoD systems
Experience may be achieved simultaneously.
CERTIFICATIONS- Levels I-IV: Must be working toward one of the following certifications within 18 months of assuming duties, or complete a COR-approved vendor/platform-specific certification:
- Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)
- Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP)
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD)
- Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD)
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)
- Sun Certified Professional (SCP)
- Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- or equivalent
- Level V:
- Must have completed one of the above certifications.
- Prior experience supporting DoD or federal systems
- Familiarity with C4
ISR environments - Experience working in classified or secure environments
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes
- Ability to work independently and as an integrated team
- Work must be performed on-site
- Working on a computer for long periods of time.
- May involve long period of sitting at a desk.
- The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures.
