We are seeking a GIT Support Specialist to support the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) in New Orleans, LA. This role provides technical support across Geological Interpretive Tools (GIT), application environments, workstation systems, and enterprise infrastructure supporting BOEM program operations.

Responsibilities
  • Provides technical support for applications and related tools, supporting installation, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing system functionality within enterprise environments.
  • Supports enterprise workstation environments, including deployment, configuration, and validation of software installations, ensuring systems are properly configured and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Analyzes and resolves technical issues related to applications, system performance, compatibility, and user access, supporting continuity of operations across enterprise-managed systems.
  • Coordinates with Enterprise IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support system changes, upgrades, and issue resolution, contributing to the stability and reliability of application and system environments.
  • Supports system lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patches, and configuration changes, ensuring alignment with enterprise processes and technical requirements.
  • Assists with system connectivity, data transfer processes, and remote access support, contributing to overall system availability and usability.
  • Interfaces with users to diagnose technical issues, provide support, and ensure effective resolution of application and system-related challenges.
  • Performs analysis of system processes and technical issues to support ongoing operations, identify trends, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation, including procedures, configuration details, and user support materials.
  • Applies established tools, systems, and methodologies to perform assigned tasks while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and requirements.
  • May provide guidance or task-level coordination in support of project execution and team activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience solving computer, business, scientific, engineering, or other discipline-related system or process problems, with knowledge of commonly used information technology concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting technical systems, applications, or enterprise environments, including activities such as installation, configuration, troubleshooting, integration, or operational support.
  • Experience working within established processes, procedures, standards, or tools in a technical or IT-related environment.
  • Ability to support moderately complex technical assignments while following established guidelines and working under supervision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or other applicable discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of the Interior (DOI) Public Trust.
