overview
responsible, professional, administrative, and analytical work at the legal department of the new orleans aviation board, performing assignments designed to develop the legal, technical, and management skills required to assist in various legal and contract administration activities. Assignments vary in nature and increase in difficulty with the objective of the employee advancing to higher‑level legal or administrative positions. Work is performed under the supervision of an attorney or administrative superior.
responsibilitiesemployees in this class participate in managing the legal department’s portion of the contract routing and renewal process, conducting legal research, drafting ordinances and agreements, preparing correspondence and presentations, maintaining records, and performing related duties as required.
qualifications- a juris doctorate from an accredited college or university.
- a bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of paralegal experience.
- completion of a paralegal studies or legal assistant study program at an accredited four‑year college or junior college, or any aba‑approved program and one (1) year of paralegal experience.
- possession of the certified paralegal (cp) certification issued by nala, which can substitute for the required one year of paralegal experience.
applicants must also have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the airport’s auto liability insurance policy.
