The Senior Parts Specialist is responsible for leading day-to-day branch parts department activity, including parts ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory accuracy, vendor communication, backorder tracking, returns, cores, warranties, credits, and parts support for technicians and shop personnel. This position supports shop productivity by ensuring parts availability, maintaining clean and organized storage areas, training and mentoring parts support staff, monitoring parts spending, and maintaining accurate parts system data.
Responsibilities:- Oversee day-to-day parts department operations, including timely parts ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Source, quote, and order parts from approved vendors and negotiate pricing when appropriate and authorized.
- Ensure parts are stocked, labeled, organized, and maintained in compliance with company standards.
- Track backorders and expedite critical orders to minimize shop downtime.
- Manage returns, cores, warranty parts, credits, incorrect shipments, damaged goods, and related documentation.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized parts storage areas.
- Provide quick and accurate parts support to technicians, service writers, foremen, branch managers, and shop personnel.
- Communicate effectively with service writers, foremen, branch managers, vendors, and suppliers regarding parts status, delays, pricing, and availability.
- Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships.
- Train, mentor, and oversee parts counter staff, parts runners, or assigned parts support personnel.
- Assign daily parts tasks and ensure staff follow proper parts procedures, safety expectations, and documentation requirements.
- Monitor and manage parts spending according to company budgets and guidelines.
- Review invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders for accuracy before submitting them to accounting.
- Maintain accurate data within the company parts management, inventory, ERP, or fleet software system.
- Occasionally pick up and deliver parts utilizing a company vehicle when authorized and qualified under company driving expectations.
- Follow company policies, customer site requirements, branch procedures, and all applicable safety and environmental rules.
- Support branch inventory cleanup projects, vendor reviews, warranty recovery projects, and parts process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in branch meetings, safety discussions, parts leadership communication, training activities, and continuous improvement projects.
- Assist with customer-facing parts support, emergency sourcing, or branch operational support as assigned.
This position may train, mentor, oversee, and assign daily work to parts counter staff, parts runners, or branch parts support personnel. Formal employment actions, compensation decisions, corrective action, and final performance management authority remain with management unless delegated in writing by CTTECH leadership.

Trains, mentors, and guides parts support personnel professionally. - Teamwork:
Communicates professionally with technicians, service writers, vendors, accounting, and branch leadership.
