Inventory Control & Analysis, Logistics Coordination, Distribution/ General Warehouse, Procurement / Purchasing
The Logistics Coordinator keeps materials, equipment, and deliveries moving on an active job site, serving as the on-the-ground extension of the Procurement/Logistics Manager. This role owns the daily mechanics of site logistics — receiving, staging, inventory tracking, and delivery follow-up — and is the point of contact field crews turn to when they need materials or answers, and the eyes and ears the Procurement/Logistics Manager relies on when they can’t be on-site.
This is an entry-level, hourly position well suited to someone early in their logistics or supply chain career who is organized, dependable, and eager to grow into broader procurement and logistics responsibility.
- Receive, inspect, and log incoming deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies, and route them to the correct crew, laydown area, or storage location.
- Coordinate delivery timing and staging with field crews so materials are where they’re needed, when they’re needed, without disrupting active work areas.
- Track on-site inventory levels day to day and flag shortages, discrepancies, or upcoming needs to the Procurement/Logistics Manager before they become a problem.
- Follow up on open purchase orders and scheduled deliveries, checking status with vendors or drivers and communicating delays or issues to the appropriate team member.
- Support inventory forecasting by keeping accurate, current records the Procurement/Logistics Manager can use to plan ahead for upcoming project needs.
- Coordinate material and supply needs around key site events, such as crew changes, shift starts, and scheduled deliveries.
- Serve as the day-to-day, on-the-ground point of contact between field crews and the off-site or traveling Procurement/Logistics Manager and project management team.
- Stage and organize materials, equipment, and the laydown yard to keep work areas functional and safe as the site develops.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date logistics records — inventory, deliveries, and site activity — using the tools and systems the team provides.
- Proactively identify small process improvements in material flow or site logistics and communicate them to leadership.
- Take on additional administrative and coordination tasks as the site and project needs evolve.
- Prior experience in inventory, receiving, dispatch, warehouse, or similar logistics coordination work.
- A quick learner who can pick up new terminology, tools, and site-specific processes without needing everything spelled out.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort keeping accurate records under a fast-moving schedule.
- Clear, confident communication skills; comfortable being the go-between for field crews and off-site leadership.
- A proactive, ownership mindset with a genuine interest in identifying and fixing inefficiencies in material flow.
- Not afraid to ask questions when encountering unfamiliar processes or terminology.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:
- Basic Office 365 software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Comfort with basic inventory or logistics tracking tools and systems (training provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework a plus but not required.
- Experience in inventory, receiving, dispatch, warehouse, or similar logistics coordination work preferred.
- No construction industry experience required; willingness to learn site vocabulary and processes on the job matters more than prior industry experience.
- Military experience a plus.
