Job SummaryAs an Environmental Services Operations Manager, you are responsible for assisting EVS leaders in directing and overseeing the operational needs of the Housekeeping Department. You will coordinate the tasks of the front‑line staff and serve as a liaison between administration and hospital departments to provide the highest possible level of service.
Key Responsibilities- Establishes and annually reviews standards and work procedures for all Housekeeping staff.
- Plans work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered.
- Assists in the hiring process: interview, hiring, and training of new associates.
- Orientates, develops, and supervises all supervisory/housekeeping staff.
- Conducts regular inspections and makes recommendations to the facility.
- Monthly reporting of goals, accomplishments, and future plans.
- Provides staff education and training.
- Communicates with staff, administration, and other departments.
- Coordinates outside services such as pest control, window cleaning, medical and solid waste, document destruction, and the recycling program.
- Four‑year college degree, military experience, or equivalent work experience.
- At least one year of supervisory experience in housekeeping or a service‑related field with high customer/client contact.
- Demonstrated progressive growth in health‑care housekeeping or facility maintenance (preferred).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and establish priorities.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing and stressful environment.
- Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
- Knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
- Willingness to work a daytime shift Monday–Friday (e.g., 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM) with a weekend and holiday rotation and to work a 10‑hour day on a regular basis.
- Non‑commissioned officer E4+ with experience in planning, developing, and directing logistics.
- Experience supervising a group of soldiers of 15 or more.
- Ability to troubleshoot, isolate, and identify causes of equipment malfunction.
- Experienced in teaching technical skills to lower‑rank soldiers.
- Experience preparing cost and labor estimates.
