WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transportation Director/Local Business Line Lead for our New Orleans, LA office. The candidate will play a key strategic leadership role in Louisiana as we continue to strengthen and expand our Transportation practice. WSP is positioned to grow our Louisiana practice in all transportation services agencies;
Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LDOTD), ports, local governments, transit authorities, and others. This role also is a leader in leveraging cross collaboration with Property and Buildings, Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and PMCM to bring value to our clients.

Your Impact Operational Excellence
  • Optimizes the client and employee experience through regular review and implements process improvements
  • Focuses on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standards
  • Develops local growth, forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with District, Region and National Business Line Leaders
  • Resolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP’s client base, or on projects
  • Collaborate with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, manage project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and meet operational financial metrics
People & Culture
  • Works with the Business Line leader to attract the best industry talent by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity and invites broad, creative thinking – crafting a more attractive place to work, grow and thrive
  • Emphasizes employee training and development to create a unique work experience

  • Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District, National Business Lines, and Pursuit Management

  • Fosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry
  • Advances the strategic direction of the district and region in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan

  • Key performance indicators include: EBITDA, Organic Growth, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding Principles
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a strong focus in transportation infrastructure
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Louisiana
  • Established LADOTD, Transportation Agency, and other relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the Louisiana geography
  • Recent LADOTD Design and Project Management
