Allen Correctional Center is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to serve as an Assistant Warden
2. This position is a key supervisory role responsible for managing, planning, directing, supervising, and coordinating all phases of security operations. Supervises and controls the movement of offenders, including initial assignment and transfer within the institution. Manages assigned areas of the facility and serves as a training instructor. Provides training and assistance to subordinates regarding policy, procedures, and law.

Qualifications
  • Three years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises plus one of the following:
  • Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A master's degree plus two years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises; OR
  • A doctorate plus one year of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.
Special Requirement

An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.

In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.

Job Duties
  • Serves as Weekend Duty Officer for the entire prison on a rotating basis.
  • Directs and coordinates all security and non-security activities to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, departmental and institutional regulations, policies, and goals.
  • Manages assigned areas of the facility.

DETAIL OF A permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)

  • An employee selected for detail may be permanently promoted to this position if a position becomes available.

  • Any degree, certificate, special license, or DD-214 must be verified by official documentation prior to hire.

    • This is a 24-hour facility.
