Shipping Supervisor

Job Summary: Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the production facility. All plant-based personnel report through this position. General areas of responsibility include production, safety and health, shipping and receiving and plant maintenance.

Required Education/

Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 2 years experience in Shipping department
• Minimum 2 years leadership experience
• Minimum 2 years mobile equipment experience

Preferred Skills/

Qualifications:

• Must have an enthusiasm around safety. Must drive a safety culture where safety is number one priority for all employees.
• General Knowledge of Transportation and Freight processes
• Proficiency Cloud Logistics software
• Proficiency in Microsoft office programs
• Proficiency in Oracle
• Proficiency with vendor/carrier interactions

Functional Knowledge and People Management:

• Ability to understand production goals and hit targets
• Lean/Continuous Improvement practical application
• Proven ability to develop and direct others
• Ability to present a positive unified front to departmental employees, reinforcing the goals, strategies, and personal commitment of the leadership team
• Meticulous attention to detail and an innate knack to research and solve problems
• While working independently with tight schedules and adhering to the highest standards of excellence
• Must be flexible with schedule and able to adjust according to work demands

Job Responsibilities:

• Promotes dedicated focus to develop & ensure Safety and Quality Compliance to Policies and Procedures of Hydro Extrusions NA.
• Supervises shipping teams, ensuring all materials are handled in the most cost-efficient manner, with an overall goal of servicing the customer needs & delivering on time.
• Ensures compliance to existing work instructions; facilitates continuous improvement initiatives & takes the lead on new program implementations.
• Trains TM’s in accordance to the JSA’s, verify their knowledge of what they are taught.
• Actively participates in daily planning meetings; provides solutions for any foreseen barriers which could jeopardize shipping customer orders complete and on time.
• Coordinates with other departments regarding daily loads.
• Interact with CSR’s regarding customer deliveries.
