Nature of PositionLeads the Smithton, MO Production Team to produce swine feeds as efficiently and safely as possible while meeting all corporate and government guidelines. Responsible for the daily production operation of the feed mill, ingredient receiving, feed production and delivery, coordinating feed hauling with external third‑party provider. Leads safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement efforts. Responsible for the quality of the feed produced at the site.
Supervises feed mill employees and is responsible for their performance evaluations.
- Meet hourly/daily goals, maximizing production capacity while meeting corporate and business unit guidelines.
- Schedule and control the production process following existing protocols, production records, and controls.
- Monitor feed orders and ensure proper execution of delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with transportation regarding feed deliveries.
- Supervise and coach feed mill employees; keep the feed mill manager informed of personnel successes and challenges.
- Collaborate with Feed Desk, field staff, and feed logistics personnel on deliveries and feed quality.
- Review daily production data and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Perform regular mill walkthroughs and act on corrective procedures.
- Monitor on‑site inventories and coordinate with merchants on timely ingredient acquisition.
- Control formulas and coordinate with Formulation on formula requirements in a timely manner.
- Assist the feed mill manager with implementation and monitoring of milling programs and special projects.
- Coordinate with maintenance supervisor on preventative maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years’ previous supervisory experience in feed milling, or 5+ years of supervisory experience in another manufacturing environment.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal or written).
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Safety training courses completed (OSHA or company required).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, climbing ladders, lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Less than 5% travel.
- Bachelor degree in feed manufacturing, industrial engineering, or related field.
- 10 years’ previous supervisory experience in feed milling.
- Feed Mill Management experience.
- Experience in construction projects.
- Knowledge of labor relations and ability to organize and motivate people.
- Past performance shows highly developed leadership skills.
- Proficiency in using MS Office tools.
- 30‑hour construction safety course (OSHA).
- Will be exposed to the elements depending on the task at hand.
- Will be required to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.
- Work somewhat close to others, such as when sharing workspace.
