  • Previous professional TIG (GTAW) welding or tacking experience on carbon steel pipe is required.

  • Must have demonstrated hands-on experience producing quality TIG tack welds in a pipe fabrication or industrial environment.

  • Must be proficient in TIG welding techniques, including proper heat control, puddle control, penetration, and weld consistency.

  • Must understand pipe fit-up, joint preparation, alignment, root openings, and proper tack placement.

  • Must have experience working with pipe in fixed positions, including horizontal and vertical welding applications.

  • Must be able to produce sound TIG tack welds that meet visual and radiographic (X-ray) inspection requirements.

  • Must be familiar with common pipe fabrication tools, measuring instruments, and welding equipment.

  • Must be able to follow welding procedures, specifications, and fabrication requirements.

  • Previous experience as a TIG Pipe Tacker, Fabrication Tacker, GTAW Pipe Welder, Pipe Tacker, or Combo Pipe Welder preferred.

Note: General MIG, Flux Core, or Stick welding experience without hands-on TIG pipe experience does not satisfy the minimum qualifications.

  • Prepare and position pipe components for accurate fit-up and tack welding.

  • Verify pipe alignment, joint preparation, root openings, and fit-up requirements prior to tacking.
