$120,000 to $140,000 + Bonus +

We are seeking a visionary and high-impact Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to lead nursing operations for a premier behavioral health facility serving the Greater New Orleans area. This facility provides state‑of‑the‑art psychiatric care for adolescents and adults facing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and acute mental health concerns.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CNO is responsible for the clinical integrity, operational efficiency, and financial health of the nursing department. You will set the vision for nursing practice, ensuring the delivery of safe, equitable, and patient‑centered care while mentoring the next generation of behavioral health leaders.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Leadership:
Set the strategic vision for nursing practice; direct and evaluate all nursing activities to ensure safe, timely, and efficient patient care. - Operational Excellence:
Organize and review policies, procedures, and protocols to meet all regulatory, compliance, and quality care standards. - Resource Management:
Anticipate and manage changes in patient census and acuity; allocate nursing resources and staff effectively. - Team Development:
Recruit, hire, and train nursing personnel; provide performance goals, feedback, and professional development opportunities. - Interdisciplinary
Collaboration:
Work closely with medical and administrative teams to ensure the physical, biopsychosocial, and cultural needs of all residents are met. - Financial Oversight:
Develop and oversee the departmental budget and reporting; ensure operational and financial efficiency.
Strict Requirement: Only candidates with direct Behavioral Health RN experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting will be considered.
- Licensure:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree (MSN or MHA) strongly preferred. - Clinical
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of RN experience (10+ years preferred), including at least 2 years of inpatient behavioral health experience. - Leadership
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of progressive nursing management or administrative leadership experience. Prior CNO or Director of Nursing (DON) experience is strongly preferred. - Setting:
Experience in a freestanding psychiatric hospital is highly advantageous.
