Job SummaryThis role provides direct patient care, including IV therapy, within the Licensed Practical Nurse Act framework under the direction of a registered nurse. The LPN directs and assists ancillary nursing staff, collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, and ensures high‑quality personalized care.
Responsibilities- Effectively use the nursing process to gather data, plan care and evaluate outcomes.
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to patient age.
- Communicate professionally with patients, guests, family members and co‑workers to ensure a quality experience.
- Adapt to rapid changes positively throughout the day as unit needs evolve.
- Manage professional development and maintain required clinical knowledge, skills, training and credentials.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: None required.
- Certifications: Active LPN license in the state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Preferred: IV Therapy credentials.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with judicious self‑direction.
- Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
Heavy work may require occasional lifting of 50–100 lb, frequent lifting of 25–50 lb or constant lifting of 10–20 lb. Routine duties expose staff to blood, body fluids, and tissues. The role may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous medications and hazardous waste.
